Congratulations to Miss Ava Kuhn and Mr. Conner Lohr! Last week, we at WPS got to celebrate our Grade 9 class one last time before saying Farewell as they head off to Oyen next year for high school. The afternoon started off with a delicious meal catered by Mr. Didychuk of Didy Smoke It? and our own Ava and Conner. This amazing meal was enjoyed by the WPS staff and junior high students. Thank you Didy Smoke It? The meal was followed by speeches from the staff, Ava and Conner. In the evening, Ava, Conner, the WPS staff and different members from the community participated in a parade around town. Community members got to enjoy the parade while cheering on the grads, and some little kids even got to go home with giant bags of candy. Following the parade, there was a presentation in the WPS gym where parents, family members and friends could celebrate Ava and Conner. Thank you to the parent council for supervising the Grade 1-6 during the afternoon lunch and speeches. Thanks to the Acadia Valley Rec Club for allowing us to use the Arena for some physical activity for grade 1-6. Thanks to Lil’ Pop for sprucing up our gym. Thank you to the staff for their hard work in making this evening such a success. Congratulations, Ava and Conner. We wish you all the best in your high school adventures and all this life has to offer. Remember…we don’t say goodbye we say see you later!

Shout out to our penpals, the OYEN Lodge and Pam Stark at FCSS. Last week the WPS grade 4-6 class had a chance to meet their pen pals in person at a celebration held at the OYEN Lodge. Sharing of stories, card games, colouring, mazes and more filled the room with smiles and laughter. We were even treated to some poetry and a sweet treat. Thank you Pam for organizing and helping to get our letters back and forth. #igniteminds #kindlehearts #forgefutures

The countdown to summer is on 😎 Last Friday, our elementary students ventured on up to Oyen. The first stop was the Auxiliary to put on a music performance for the residents. Mrs. McCurdy and the students have worked very hard, and the students are proud to put on a music show for the residents. After the students headed over to the pool to enjoy some swimming.
